Facial Exfoliators FAQs

Why should I exfoliate?
The skin is constantly generating new skin cells at the lower layers and sending them to the outer layers of the skin. As skin cells rise to the surface they gradually die. As we age the process of skin cell turnover slows down. Cells start piling up unevenly on the skin's surface, giving it a dry, rough, dull complexion. Exfoliation is beneficial because it removes those cells that are clinging on, revealing the fresher, younger skin cells below.

How often should I exfoliate?
All skins types need to be exfoliated to eliminate the impurities that keep the skin from breathing and to remove the dead cells that give you a lifeless complexion. For a more radiant complexion, cleanse your skin then exfoliate your face and neck:
1-2 times a week if you have a normal or combination skin type,
1-3 times a week if you have a dry skin type,
2-4 times a week if you have an oily skin type,
once every other week if you have a sensitive or acne-prone skin type.

Can I exfoliate my face and use a mask on the same day?
We recommend the following steps on your face and neck either in the morning or at night:
Cleanse your skin,
Exfoliate,
Apply a mask,
Tone your skin,
Hydrate,

Should I use a facial exfoliator to remove makeup?
Facial exfoliators are designed to remove dead cells and impurities from deep layers of the skin and should not be used to remove makeup. Instead, for a more effective makeup removal, use a Facial Cleanser to remove dirt and makeup from the top layers of the skin.
